Davidsonville residents enjoy easy access to major commuter routes including Route 50 and Central Ave west to Washington and the I-97 heading north to Baltimore. One of the most appealing aspects to living in this community (other than the large, private properties of course!) is the mixture of suburban and rural living. Davidsonville is partly developed, with much of the land in and around the community being untouched forest and farmland. Homes are situated on green hills, and often back onto lush foliage.

Davidsonville History

Originally the home to several Native American peoples, Europeans first settled in the Davidsonville around the 1600s. There was a major boom in construction in the 1700s, and many of the buildings from this time period remain.


The Anne Arundel Country Free School was built sometime in the early to mid-1700s. The Davidsonville Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with six other buildings around the community also listed.

Although Davidsonville may be a small community, there is still a lot to see and do. Its residential areas are Some of the area green spaces include the following:

  • Davidsonville Park - walking paths, trails, and ball fields
  • Governor Bridge Natural Area - many ponds and trails, a small boat launch is available
  • Broad Creek Park - ideal for walking and running

Other area highlights include Renditions Golf Course, Knightongale Farm, Y Worry Farm, and Clarity Riding.
