Jay Riley is Chief Marketing Officer of Northrop Realty, A Long & Foster Company. With 20+ years of real estate experience, Jay oversees the marketing efforts for the award-winning, full-service brokerage, supporting more than 400 real estate professionals.
As CMO, Jay is an integral member of Northrop’s executive leadership team and is responsible for growing the brokerage’s awareness to real estate agents, buyers, and sellers throughout Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He manages a team of eight full-time marketing experts, works closely with sales agents and teams to build and execute customized marketing plans, leads the strategy and execution of the organization’s marketing initiatives, and supports the growth and expansion of the brokerage.
Prior to this role, Jay spent five years as the Director of Marketing for St. John’s Properties, where he was responsible for directing various in-house marketing and PR efforts including developing and executing cross-functional strategies to promote and maintain the corporate brand and messaging on a national scale. Jay began his career working for the Northrop brand in 2002, holding numerous roles in lead generation, marketing, IT, and home staging over the years.
In the community, Jay is committed to driving positive change through his advocacy work and serves as Acting Secretary on the Baltimore LGBTQ Commission and Vice President of The LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance Central Maryland Chapter. He is also active in the real estate community as a member of the National REALTOR® Association as well as several local chapters.
Jay graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
