Aberdeen History

The city of Aberdeen has its roots in the agricultural industry. It was first incorporated as a village in the year 1852, and named after Aberdeen, Scotland by its Scottish population. Aberdeen later became a town (forty years later), and then finally a city in 1992. 


There are five public schools in Aberdeen and one private school.
