Kimberley McCarl

Director of Luxury Home Marketing | REALTOR®

About

As the Director of Luxury Markets, the most critical component of Kim's role is trust. Trust is where the relationship begins with her clients, who often become friends while Kim directs the complex process of preparing their luxury home for a competitive market. Kim's favorite part of the process is always the people she meets, the relationships she builds, and the knowledge the team gains from one another. She finds excellent satisfaction in seeing her staging and work lead to a sale, especially when she knows that work is helping people through a difficult life transition. In addition to being a licensed real estate agent, Kim is a licensed Interior designer in the state of Maryland. She attended the University of Maryland for her undergraduate degree, followed by Catholic University, where she earned her Masters degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture and Engineering. After graduation, Kim had the pleasure of traveling to Haiti on a short term mission trip to help design and build a school. Kim's work experience combines the design of residential homes, commercial architecture, space planning, home staging, and marketing. She began her career in commercial health care design for hospitals across the country and, from there, she was recruited to design and develop marketing tools for the products used in the architectural and interior design communities. To facilitate this, Kim became certified to teach and train with Myers-Briggs (a psychological tool that sorts personality preferences). She says that the Myers Briggs tool has proven to be extremely useful in understanding marketing trends and in identifying preferences among clients. Kim has had roles as a space planner and architect for business interiors and also spent ten years as a senior designer for a high-end, award-winning residential interior design firm where her work was published. Before joining Northrop Realty, Kim served as adjunct faculty, teaching interior design materials and methods at the college level. In her role at Northrop Realty, she is responsible for preparing high-end, luxury properties with customized marketing strategies. Along with her skills and experience, Kim uses every resource available to create the most robust roll out of every home she stages before bringing it to market. Kim also partners with Creig Northrop to present his monthly Staging to Sell seminars hosted throughout the year. In her spare time, Kim enjoys traveling with her family. While they have visited many European countries, her favorite place to visit is Amalfi. Located on the southern coast of Italy, Kim enjoys the antiquity, hotels, and restaurants that are perched on a dramatic cliff, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
